Empower Girls Plus Association.

We are an organization that promotes a development agenda that seeks to bear out the empowerment of young people by addressing some of the challenges they experience in their quest for quality and affordable livelihoods.

About

Who We Are

Empower Girls Plus Organization is a national youth-led association whose mission is to promote sustainable youth development through various key intervention areas. These areas include youth entrepreneurship, gender mainstreaming, life skills training, promoting LGBTI rights, youth reproductive health rights (including drug abuse prevention) and youth international volunteerism.

It is registered as a National society with the Registrar of Societies (No 45327). It is a bold response to the need to change the paradigm in the mobilization of local resources to facilitate the empowerment of young people who are at the very bottom of the survival pyramid.

Meet The Team

Board Chairperson

Susan Kabunge

Susan is the board chairperson, who moves between classroom chalkboards and boardroom whiteboards with equal grace. She is a master at orchestrating both young minds during day and charitable missions by twilight.

Her experience in education has gifted her with patience and the adaptability. Like a lighthouse keeper, she stands guard over both the NGO’s mission and its moral compass, illuminating the way forward with wisdom earned from years of shaping young lives.

Ruth Moody

Ruth is a rare blend. Someone who navigates the social sector with a heart of gold and the strategic mind of a chess master. An astute business person whose eyes light up equally when discussing profit margins and when sharing stories of lives transformed.

While some see these as opposing forces, she views them as two wings of the same bird; both essential for lifting people out of vulnerability. Her mind might be calculating resource optimization, but her hands are always ready to offer a reassuring touch to those in need, and you will often find her on the ground level, sleeves rolled up, knowing every one by name.
